Europe remains on high alert after yesterday's terror attacks.
ISIS claimed responsibility for co-ordinated terrorist attacks on Brussels which saw suicide bombers strike at Brussels' Zaventem airport, with passengers seen fleeing for their lives shortly after.
An hour later an explosion was heard at the Belgian capital's Maelbeek metro station in a separate terror attack.
34 people are reported to have died, and at least 198 are injured.
This
morning reports have named the airport suicide bombers as Khalid and
Ibrahim El-Bakraoui. It is said that they are brothers and were known to
the police.
The third man, seen next to the brothers in CCTV footage, has been named as Paris bomb maker Najim Laachraoui.
The attacks came four days after Salah Abdeslam was arrested in the Belgian capital in relation to November's terror attacks on Paris.
Belgium will hold a minute’s silence across the country at midday for the 34 people that lost their lives yesterday morning.
The latest death tolls indicate that 20 people died in the metro bombing, while 14 died in the Brussels Airport atrocity.
The silence will take place at midday local time, which is 11am in the UK.
We are learning more this morning about the Brussels Airport suicide bombers - brothers Khalid and Ibrahim El-Bakraoui.
Police say that the brothers were known to authorities.
Belgian
news website DH is reporting that the pair could be the men who fled a
house last week during raid - an incident in which police were shot at.
One
brother, Ibrahim, was convicted of shooting at police officers in a
separate incident back in October 2010, Belgian media has reported.
THE AIRPORT REMAINS CLOSED
Brussels Airport remains closed today and will remain closed for the foreseeable future it has been said.
Many who were among the injured have lost limbs, including children.
The Brussels metro has partially reopened.
Prime Minister David Cameron is expected to chair a second meeting of
the Government’s emergency COBRA committee in response to the attacks
in the next hour.
